Free WWII letters play reading at Burning Coal Theatre (Nov 7)
A staged reading of More Than War, a play in development built from the 1942-46 letters and drawings of an NC State student who became a WWII infantryman, followed by a community conversation about family stories and primary sources.
The letters are Turner Garwood Williams's, written from 1942 to 1946. Playwright Ann McColl and NC State historian Garrett McKinnon join the conversation afterward (via Carolina Public Humanities).
